one after God's own heart

God speaks of David as 'a man after my own heart'. “I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do all my will” (Acts 13:22). All humans are born sinners, so how did David become a man after God's own heart? Was David doing well? Or was it because he was smart? not easily guessed However, he said that God does not look at the outward appearance of people but looks at the heart. Then we can know that God looked at the heart of David and chose him.

Because of the sin of the first man, Adam, all mankind came to live under sin. However, in the beginning, at a time when evil was not prevalent, humans were distinguished, and they were divided into 'the righteous and the wicked' according to their lineage. In Genesis 4, those born of Abel's lineage are distinguished as 'righteous', and those born of Cain's lineage are distinguished as 'wicked'. Here, 'the righteous' refers to those whose heart is toward God like Abel, and the term 'wicked' refers to those whose heart is toward the world like Cain.

At that time, according to their lineage, the righteous enjoyed heavenly beasts, but the wicked did not live long because of their sins and died. After that, as the human race began to prosper, humans began to fall rapidly. As people who lived separately from the righteous and the wicked married each other, the fall of mankind progressed rapidly. “When men began to multiply upon the earth, daughters were born of them, and the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were beautiful, and they took wives of all they desired” (Genesis 6:1-2). God saw the pervasiveness of human sin and judged them with a flood.

As the distinction between the righteous and the wicked was abolished due to the fall of man, from then on, only those who were chosen by God were distinguished as the righteous. Abraham was the first to be chosen by God. Through one Abraham, Israel was born. Even if it was Abraham's descendants, God's choice continued. Although they are the same child of Abraham, Ishmael was rejected and Isaac was chosen to become God's child.

Only those born of Abraham's blood were considered righteous by the Israelites. The people of Israel have lived in this stereotype for about 2,000 years. Jesus came before the people who had these stereotypes and stereotypes. And when what you are saying is that from now on, instead of following Abraham’s lineage to become righteous, those who believe in themselves and receive forgiveness of sins can become righteous. passed it into his hands and made him die.

After Jesus came to the land of Israel, the way of distinguishing the righteous from the wicked has completely changed. From this time on, only those who believed in Jesus and had their sins forgiven were called righteous. As a result, those born of Abraham's lineage were not complacent. “Because we are Abraham’s descendants, we have never been slaves, so why do you say that we will be set free?” (John 8:33). No matter how hard we try to worship God, if we do not know the will of God, we are just blind people living in darkness.

The Apostle Paul also says that he was born of Abrahamic lineage. If we translate this literally, it means that Paul himself is a 'righteous man' if he uses the law. But Paul says that after knowing Jesus, he regarded all these things as harm. “I have lost everything for him and counted it as dung, because the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord is the noblest” (Philippians 3:9). Until Paul met Jesus, he thought he would become a righteous man according to his ancestor's lineage. However, when he met Jesus, he realized that he could only become righteous if his sins were forgiven. In the end, it is the story of the people of Israel who lived under the law, only when they believed in Jesus and their sins were forgiven in order to become people after God's heart.

So, among today's Christians, who can become a person after God's own heart? Can a person who diligently attends church without missing a single day become a person after God's heart? Is the person who wears a high dagger in the church a person after God's heart? Otherwise, if we donate a lot to God or take care of poor people who have nowhere to go, how will God take care of them? Could it be that the pastors who are in charge of a large church are considered by God to be after His heart?

However, God is looking for people who worship from the heart, not looking at who did what and how hard. Christians today know that those who believe in the name of Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit are saved. However, since Christians are not the people of Israel who lived under the law, believing in Jesus who came to the land of Israel in the flesh can never forgive the sins of the inner man. Therefore, since only the sins of the outward man have been forgiven, Christians have not attained complete salvation until the sins of the inward man are forgiven.

In order for Christians to receive forgiveness of sins in their hearts and enter full salvation, it is possible only if they believe in the spiritual Son of God who is sent to the Gentiles in the future. What Christians should not be confused with is that Jesus, who came before the people of Israel, came only to bear the sins (law) of the people who lived under the law. “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace, and his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). However, Christians keep getting confused and believe that if they believe in Jesus, they will be forgiven of their sins (inner man) even as corrupt Gentiles.

For this reason, Christians today cannot enter into full salvation by calling on the name of Jesus, who came to the land of Israel. Only by believing in Christ who comes spiritually to the Gentiles can the sins of the inner person be forgiven and enter eternal life. If Christians claim that we are saved because we believe in Jesus, it is the same as the Israelites claiming that we are righteous because we were born of the lineage of Abraham, the father of faith.

Then, why are Christians, like the Israelites, unable to enter into full salvation even if they believe in Jesus? This is because the salvation process of the Israelites is different from that of the Gentiles. To the people of Israel the law was given in the flesh, but to the Christians the law was given in the heart. When the people of Israel, who received the Law in the flesh, believe in Jesus, who came in the flesh, their sins of violating the Law will be forgiven first, and then they will receive the Holy Spirit through the blood of Jesus and enter into complete salvation.

However, Christians who have received the law in their hearts believe in Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit, but that does not lead to salvation. That is just the beginning of their first life as a spiritual people of Israel. Just as we cannot keep the law completely, we cannot fully keep the law of the Holy Spirit. Then all Christians today are sinners who have disobeyed the law of the Holy Spirit. “Have you begun with the Spirit, and now do you finish with the flesh?” (Galatians 3:3). All kinds of sins are accumulating in the hearts of Christians who have disobeyed the Holy Spirit. Dead spirits are hardening the hearts of Christians. Christians first started with the Holy Spirit, but now they are all going astray. This is because we live in disobedience to the law of the Holy Spirit.

Christians whose hearts have been corrupted by rebelling against the Holy Spirit are no longer able to approach God on their own. So, how can Christians approach God? That is, all Christians must be reborn as Christ by believing in the Son of God who is sent to the Gentiles. Literally translated, it means that Christ must be in the hearts of believers. Only then will God recognize Christians as children of God. You can see that God is ultimately looking for His Son in the hearts of Christians.

This is the analogy of this saying, “When the king came in to see his hand, he saw a man there without a robe, and said, “Friend, why did you come in here without a robe?” He said nothing for a long time, but the king said to his servants, “He Bind them hands and feet and throw them into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 22:11-13) . Here, 'robes' means Christ, and eventually, if Christ does not exist in the hearts of Christians, they will be cast out in the outer darkness, where they will weep and grind their teeth.
